As an ethnic Greek, my standards for Greek food are very high, Athena Greek Restaurant did not disappoint. The ambience of the restaurant was beautiful and lively with outdoor seating. The service was absolutely phenomenal, we ordered appetizers and they were on our table in under 3 minutes. Entrees were out in no more than 5 minutes, and it was quite busy on a Friday night at 7pm. Now for the food: We got the saganaki, spanakopita, and avgolemeno soup. All 3 were absolutely delicious and had incredible flavor. The avgolemono soup was almost as good my as late Yia Yias (RIP!). For the Entrees we got the stuffed chicken breast, and leg of lamb with potatoes. The stuffed chicken was pretty good, but could have had a little more flavor, but overall still good. 7.5/10. The leg of lamb was quite literally a perfect 10/10. Fall off the bone tender and flavored perfectly. The Greek potatoes were just the right amount of cooked and had the PERFECT amount of lemon in them. All in all our experience was a 9.5/10 and we will most definitely be back. Would recommend this place to anybody looking for traditional Greek

Fournou- Lamb shank: 10/10 incredible! Fall off the bone tender and amazing flavor. Even the small bit of leftovers we had was just as flavorful when it was cold (could not even wait to heat it up) Greek stuffed chicken: 7/10 (substituted rice for green beens) Chicken was decent but a bit dry. All other dishes we ordered were so great that it just made the chicken fall a bit short in comparison. Still a good dish if you are looking for a lighter option and the price was great for the amount of food. Spanakopita: 8/10 very light and the perfect appetizer to not fill you up before entrees Saganaki: 10/10 it was my first time ever trying this appetizer and it did not disappoint in any way!! Unbelievable and I will be ordering this again no doubt. It was a beautiful restaurant and service was unmatched. Food was served in less than 5 minutes of ordering and the waiters are very attentive and friendly! Overall I would highly recommend this restaurant!

Athena has always been amazing! We went back today after a long time and I'm so pleased that it's still great, especially because we went to celebrate my mom's birthday. We were a group of 6 and everything that we ordered on the table was delicious! My favorite was the eggplant appetizer and their vegetarian moussaka. The service was great as well. Our server was extremely attentive and sweet. He got my mom dessert for her birthday and it really brightened up her day. The ambience was great too. Looking forward to going back again soon considering it's right around the corner from where I live.

I just celebrated my birth day here. The service was prompt, the server was amazing, and the food was delicious. The restaurant itself is pretty and I love the atmosphere.

So yummy! Been here once before with a friend and took another friend here yesterday and yep it was just as amazing. I can't even begin to put in to words how much we loved the food, experience, service, drinks and more here. A MUST when visiting Chicago

Love this place, the choices in Greek Town have diminished in recent years, but this has been a go to choice for a long time. The saganaki is an outstanding appetizer, i recommend it, one dish is good enough for 3 people. It's flamed at your table, and is a great way to get started. I was going to have my usual Athenian Greek Chicken, it was not on the menu anymore...had chicken skewers with tzatziki....it was good...nothing special... For dessert, we love galataboutako ...they were out! I had baklava...it was a large portion enough for two and the best I ever had....we were a party of six...cost was 125 per couple...pricey, but what isn't anymore?

Came here for a good friends birthday, and it definitely enticed me to come back to Greek town! This restaurant is in such a fun area, and parking is also quite convenient for out of town guests. Menu is vast with all of the classic Greek staples, as well as some fun specials! On this trip, we stuck to the classics and they were great! The lamb for the gyro plate was amazing, and a large portion. I enjoyed having leftovers, but the pita was the only part that didn't have a proportional serving left. My boyfriend also enjoyed his leg of lamb! It was very tender, and the sauce was cinnamon-esque and very warming! Prices are a little high for a standard dinner, but I think if you value the leftovers, as well, it's worth it!!

WOW! What an incredible dining experience. We had the pleasure of having Mali and Eddie hosting us. They did a great job staying on top of drink refills and timely check ins with our group. My water never went empty and I drink a lot of water! We ordered the Saganaki for an appetizer which is the flaming cheese and OH MY GOSH.. it is a MUST. I could've eaten 5 of those by myself. If you like cheese and bread, order this for sure. I got the Greek stuffed Chicken which was amazing. The chicken was so tender and I loved the spinach and feta filling. The okra was great too! My friend got the chicken kabobs which were a nice portion as well. The design and decor of the restaurant is so unique and cozy. I absolutely loved it!

We had the : Saganaki, Shrimp Athena, Vegetarian Pasta, Souvlaki, and Chocolate Mousse Cake. Each dish was a 10/20. Order the Saganaki, it is delicious and fun to watch it be lit on fire. The service and ambience was perfect. I would definitely visit again.
